AMA Waterways
“Ama” means love – and love is at the heart of everything we do, from the way we design our ships to the development of our river cruise itineraries to the high levels of service we deliver to our guests
The Luxury of More
It is a philosophy that drives our attention to detail, constant innovation and culture of always making our guests our top priority. Whether you choose to sail with us through Europe, Asia, Africa or South America, you will always find yourself in a place where luxury means love. And since you can never have too much love, you’ll experience the luxury of more – more ways to discover, more ways to indulge and more onboard amenities.
With an award-winning fleet, critically acclaimed dining and a variety of authentic included excursions, we will turn every mile of your journey into a cherished memory.
More Views
Sophisticated, contemporary and elegantly appointed, your spacious stateroom serves as your personal oasis for rejuvenation. Most of the staterooms in our fleet feature not just one, but two private balconies — a French balcony and a full outside balcony. In fact, we were the very first river cruise line to offer these signature view-enhancing “twin balconies.”
Together, they provide a unique panoramic view of the beautiful sights along the river while inviting both fresh air and natural light inside. With twin balconies, you can enjoy the river however you wish.

Our Celebration of Wine River Cruises are the perfect way to add an epicurean dimension to your journey, with wine-related excursions and a knowledgeable Wine Host on board. With more than 70 annual Wine Cruises to choose from, you can discover such iconic wine regions as France’s Bordeaux and Burgundy, Austria’s UNESCO-designated Wachau Valley, Germany’s Riesling-rich Rheingau and Moselle valleys, Portugal’s Douro Valley; and more.
Or you can get into the holiday spirit on one of our festive Christmas Markets or New Year’s cruises through Europe.
More Included Excursions
We realise that our guests have different tastes, so we’ve developed a diverse menu of included shore excursions to accommodate all travelers with a personalized experience in every port of call. In many destinations, you’ll be free to choose from one of several tours — all of which are included in your cruise fare. There’s always a city tour designed to show you the renowned highlights and landmarks in grand capitals and charming villages alike.
Is it your first time in Vienna, Austria? Opt for an unforgettable exploration of the major sights led by a local, English-speaking guide that is well-versed in history and culture. Have you already been to Nuremberg, Germany? Instead of taking the city tour, indulge in a bratwurst and beer tasting on one of our immersive culinary-themed special interest tours, which are specially designed to place you in the midst of local life. We also offer different activity levels for gentle, regular and active walkers, as well as guided hiking and biking tours. The choice is yours.
Step aboard and unpack once aboard one of our luxury ships that transport you from one destination to the next. With AmaWaterways, every day is a “see” day as we cruise through grand capitals and charming towns. Our ships dock near city centers, meaning you can step right off the ship and explore.
