Public Transport
Singapore’s public transport etiquette is strictly observed. Allow passengers to exit first, queue neatly, and give up priority seats. Eating or drinking on trains and buses is illegal and can result in fines.
Walking
Walk on the left-hand side of footpaths and escalators (stand on the left, walk on the right). Jaywalking is illegal and actively enforced—use pedestrian crossings.
Driving
Driving is on the left-hand side. Seatbelts are mandatory for all passengers. Traffic laws are strictly enforced, with heavy fines for violations. Turning left on red is not allowed unless signposted.
